"Those ain’t tactics. That’s just the beast in me." - Jail House Rock
If you have never seen Jail House Rock you are missing out.
This movie is the very real story of unknown artists trying to break into the music business.
Elvis Presley built his career on the heart, soul and the style of black musicians. This movie is pure proof of it. This movie is the story of an unknown who gets his work stolen from him and has to fight tooth and nail to be recognized. This movie is the story of how rock and roll was taken away from blacks using the real man who stole it from them as the head bandit.
I do have to give credit where credit is due, Elvis did cite his influences and pushed hard for blacks to be recognized within the music world. At least, this is what I understand from my own person research. If anyone one has information to the contrary I would love to hear it.
